			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The concept of a vision board has been around for years but many more people became familiar with it through the movie The Secret.   I have a vision board right next to my desk &#8211; it&#8217;s a cork board that hangs on the wall and it&#8217;s got a whole bunch of pictures on it which represent  my goals.  The major problem with people not being able to achieve their goals is that they don&#8217;t know what they want, or they keep changing their minds.  <span id="more-1075"></span>A vision board helps people to define what they want and get excited about their goals.  This produces the energy and attraction factor that helps to propel them forward.  If nothing else, it&#8217;s a fun exercise and as grown-ups, we don&#8217;t give ourselves enough opportunities to just have fun.  So, set aside some time to create a vision board for yourself.  And, to make it even more fun, get your kids involved and you’ll begin teaching them about the Law of Attraction and how to activate this power in their own lives.  You don’t need to go out and purchase a cork board you can simply use a large bristol board for your creation activity.  Most vision board exercise descriptions also recommend collecting a bunch of magazines so that you can cut pictures out and paste them on to the board.  But, you can also go on the internet and do a search for photos that represent your goals and print them off.  </p>
<p>Many people will be able to attract most of what they want, simply by setting goals or creating a vision board.  However, there is a bigger portion of the population that as soon as they set a goal, they have all kinds of mind chatter that convinces them why they can&#8217;t have or achieve that goal. </p>
<p>So, here is an EFT tapping exercise that you can use to help clear that negative charge.  Begin by identifying what you don’t want and then flip that affirmation into one that supports your goal.  For example, “I don’t like my old clunker of a car and I worry that it will break down on me”.  Change that statement to, “I absolutely love driving my new Honda Accord, it rides so smoothly and I am confident that it will always get me wherever I need to go.”  Next, notice how that statement makes you feel and then write down any negative thoughts or unsupportive beliefs that come up around this second statement.  For example, “I can’t afford a new car”, “It would be self indulgent for me to get a new car”, “There are other priorities that I have to attend to first before getting a new car”, “I never get what I want” or whatever comes up for you.  Then, systematically tap out any of the negative emotions and beliefs that you have around that goal, followed by tapping in the positive statement that you’ve created above. </p>
<p>You may have to do this daily for several days or weeks until you feel completely clear when you think about your goal or review the photos on your vision board.  You’ll know that you are on your way to achieving your goal when you feel completely confident and at peace that the car is already yours but just hasn’t shown up yet.  Keep your eyes and ears open and follow the clues that the Universe sends you and take action on those inklings.  You never know where they’ll lead you and quite often they will lead you right to your goal.  The number one rule is to have fun with all of this.  The very act of having fun, invokes the Law of Detachment which is the second part of the Law of Attraction process.  Start by having fun with your vision board and you’ll create that momentum.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Happy New Year!  This is the time of year that many people set goals for what they would like to achieve for the coming year.  If you don’t typically write written goals, perhaps “peace of mind” should be your goal for 2009. </p>
<p><span id="more-825"></span></p>
<p>You’ve probably heard about that 1953 study of Yale University graduates on goal setting.  Upon graduation, the researchers determined that only 3% of the graduates had specific written goals for the future.  Some twenty years later, those same graduates were polled and they discovered that the 3% who had written goals back in their graduating year, had acquired more personal success than the other 97% of the graduates combined.  </p>
<p>When writing your goals out, keep in mind the “why” for wanting to achieve those things.  “Peace of Mind” should be your highest goal.  Do you want more money? A new job?  A new relationship?  Better Health?  What is your reason for wanting those things?  Most people will say because these things will help them to feel happier and have peace of mind.  Why not set peace of mind as your goal?</p>
<p>Many gurus will tell you that you can’t find peace of mind outside of yourself, in the external world.  Peace of mind comes from within.  It comes from dealing with and clearing those emotions and beliefs that cause you to feel upset, afraid or powerless. </p>
<p>In his book Psycho-Cybernetics, Maxwell Maltz (a plastic surgeon) discusses how he had a patient with a large hooked nose who came to see him about getting a nose job.   He performed the surgery and after several weeks when it came time to remove the bandages, she returned to see him.  The bandages were removed and as Dr Maltz marveled at the wonderful job he had done with his patient’s nose, the patient took him completely by surprise when she looked in the mirror and announced that she still felt ugly.   This story illustrates exactly how external circumstances cannot bring permanent happiness.</p>
<p>Peace of mind is an inside job.  Meditation has long been cited as a means to achieving peace of mind but there are other methods to help you achieve your goal.  EFT or emotional freedom techniques and ZPoint are two very highly effective techniques for clearing emotional upset and negative beliefs.  If you are not already familiar with these modalities, you owe it to yourself to check them out and use them to help you achieve your goal for “Peace of Mind”.</p>
